Newsletter – 29th March 2020
A short newsletter again this week.
The latest guidance from England Athletics is that all meetings and events are now suspended to at least 31st May and this includes club runs and social runs. The guidance from the government regarding exercise is that
- Only to be undertaken once a day
- Should be done on your own or only with other members of your household
- Should be restricted to walking, running and cycling
- Social distancing should be observed at all times
- It should be done from your home – driving to another place for exercise is counted as non-essential travel.
At the moment exercise is still allowed but this may change in the future.
These are normally collected from 1st April. Sue is busy working on a electronic system for membership and payment in order to make the role of the Membership Secretary more manageable. As soon as it is available, we will let everyone know. England Athletics have extended the deadline for England Athletic Membership to 31st August 2020 .
In order to keep in touch with everyone I will be doing the normal newsletter each week. However I will need some input in to it otherwise it will be very short! Positive things please. Maybe something about why you started running, your favourite route, your first race, best/worst race photo, best YouTube videos for exercising at home etc . Please email me anything you want to contribute firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can feel that we are all still part of the Club. Photos would be good!
