Well done to those who have been out racing this weekend. This Wednesday see the first of our summer cross country races, details below. For any of the more gentler runner who would like to give this a go, I should be there on Wednesday (work permitting) as I’m going to give it a go. Would be great if we could get a good turnout.
I hope you all liked you ICE tags, don’t forget them on Tuesday. Your safety is very important to us. J Lead runners, if you could make sure that all your runners have them with them that would be great!
Run this week is from Rugby Club – 6:30 to run at 6:45. Warm up at 6.30. Lead runners are:
Gentle Joggers – Mark
Easy Runners – Nick
Runners – Natalie
Please can I remind you of the running group pace and distance. It is important that groups stay together as much as possible and those faster runners in the group should muster back to the runner at the back. This is really important as it makes everyone feel part of the club.
Gentle Joggers – 11 – 12 min mile pace, around 3 – 4 miles
Easy Runners– 10 – 11 min mile pace, around 4 miles.
Runners – 9 -10 min mile pace, around 4 – 5 miles
Sprinters – 8 – 9 min mile pace, around 5 –6 miles
Elites – 7 – 8 min mile pace, around 7-8 miles

Helen has organised a LADIES ONLY evening for a sports bra information evening.
Ladies! Join us at the Snugg Cafe (old HSBC bank) on Thursday 13th June at 7.00pm for a talk on the second most important bit of kit after your running shoes – your sports bra! Kim from the Bra Boudoir is going to give a talk on the importance of the right fit, what to look for etc. You will be able to book in with her for a fitting and she has said that there will be discount vouchers available as well. So come down, have a coffee, cake and a chat and find out more about you should be wearing!
If you can let me know if you are going to be able to make it so that we can give The Snugg a rough idea of the number of people coming.
Yacht Race 18th June
Helen is organising a Yacht race
The rules are simple. 2 people per team run a 5 K route. Each person estimates how long it is going to take them and the 2 times are added together to give the Team time. The team that gets closest to their predicted time is the winner. However, there is a catch…you are not allowed to wear a watch or other timing device. It is a race based on how well you can pace yourself. You do not have to run with your team member.
If you can let Helen have the names of the people in your team and your estimated times.
The run starts at the corner of Falcon Lane and Little Marcle Road. You can give Helen team members and times on the night but it would help if I had them beforehand. If you don’t have another member of your team, she can pair you up on the night.
We will meet at the Rugby club at 6.30pm and then go down to the start together. Race will start at 7pm.

The club has bought each member a set of 3 tags. These are In Case of Emergency tags that will fit on your shoes. There is enough room for your name, an emergency contact number and any medical conditions. These will be given out over the next few weeks. We would like all runners to have one of these tags with them when they run with the club. It means that in the unlikely event of any injury/ accident, the lead runner of your group will be able to get in contact with someone who will be able to help.
For new runners to the club, we will have some spare tags for them to fill out on the night. If you know of any new runners on a Tuesday evening, please point them towards a lead runner who will be able to give them a tag to fill in.

We have our official running vest that EA rules say must be worn when racing and also some kit for you to wear when you are out running. This kit will be printed with the club logo and Ledbury Harriers, you can also have your name put on. Please check out our kit at:

During the summer months, we meet at a pub for our Tuesday run. We stay for drinks after the run and sometimes chips. The following dates and locations have been chosen:
