13th September 2020 – Important information on meeting venues this week.

Newsletter – 13th September 2020

Change of Running Venue – please read!!!

In the light of the change in government rules about meeting up, we have decided to make some changes as to where we meet to start our runs from.  We have followed the England Athletics guidance and as such are ‘COVID-Secure’.  However, with the number of running groups increasing and the  number of other events (Slimming World and Football) taking place at the Rugby Club on a Tuesday, it is getting very busy down there and can be difficult to make sure that social distancing takes place.  For the next  few weeks, we will meet at the following locations:-

Jeffers – Rugby Club (this week only so that I can sweep up any misplaced persons!) following weeks-, St Katherine’s car park

Gentle Joggers – Primary School Car Park

Easy Runners – Swimming Pool Car Park

Runners – Homebase Car park

Sprinters – St Katherine’s Car Park

Fast Group – Market House.

The football will be only be at the Rugby Club for about another 2-3 weeks before they go down to John Masefield to train.  At this point, we will review our starting places alongside the government guidance which may have changed again!

I hope you understand the need to change venues and will bear with us whilst we work through another set of guidelines.  If you have any questions regarding this, please do get in contact with me.

When you meet up to  run, please remember to maintain a social distance.

We have 2 groups at Gentle Joggers, Easy Runners and Runners pace this week.

Obviously putting on more groups does stretch our lead runner numbers so if any of you would like to volunteer to lead a group – whether as a regular leader or just occasionally, please talk to either your lead runner or let me know and we can fill you in on what  the role entails.

Lead Runners for this week are:-

Sprinters – Chris

Runners – Catherine and Sarah

Easy Runners – Kate and Sally R

Gentle Joggers – Chloe and Jayne

Jeffers – Helen

Sign up for Club runs

There is a limit to 5 runners plus a leader for each group with the exception of the Fast group which is 6 runners in total (no leader)

If, after signing up, you find that you can’t run on that night, please remove your name so that others can sign up.

If you could sign up by Monday evening, that will allow our Lead Runners to see who is in their group.

Please read our Risk Assessment and guidelines to Runners which can be found here.
