Hi there
A bit of repetition from last week I’m afraid.
Return to Running
We will be able to restart running in small groups again as from the 30th March (providing the government guidance doesn’t change.) We are currently sorting out the Lead Runners rota and the sign-up sheets will be available next week. It should be light enough to get round most of the routes in daylight by then but be prepared with hi-viz and torches for the first couple of weeks.
The England Athletics guidance can be found here:-
https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/guidance-update-2021/
As soon as we are able to do so, we will get back to our full club meetings. Keep an eye on the newsletters and website for more information.
As we will soon be running together again, you will want to renew your membership! Our membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March so now is time to get those forms sent to Mark Lister.
2021-22 Membership forms
The membership form can be found on the website here:-
https://ledburyharriers.org.uk/our-club/membership/
We have held our prices for renewing again this year. It is £15 for the standard membership without England Athletics affiliation or £30 including the EA membership. England Athletics membership allows you discounts to most races (remember those?!) and other offers including discounts at a variety of sports retailers. England Athletics affiliation is only available until 31st May as we have to register all affilliated athletes by the 30th June.
Magnificent Eastnor Castle 7 – 25th April 2021
We have decided that we will be running this event this year and the new guidelines allow us to do so. However it will be in a slightly different format. The course will be open from 10 am and entrants can come and run it at any time between then and 2pm. Times will then be sent into us and we will then collate them into ‘race’ results. This means that you can take part in the event as well this year. We will have marshalls on the course and ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has already said that they are willing to help out on the day. If you are able to help out for an hour or two, that would be great. Please let me know. Chris Law will come up with details of how many people we need and at what times so once we have that, we will let you know. We do need a couple more people who have current First Aid at Work certificates who would be willing to be around on the day. If you do or know of someone who would be willing to help out in this role for an hour or two on the day, again, please let me know.
Entries will be via Entry Central and details published soon. They will be open from the 29th March. Unlike previous years, where the race has been open to everyone; this year we are inviting local clubs to come and take part in the event. This is to allow us to ensure that we can manage the extra COVID precautions which will have to be met.
Dates for your Diary

It’s good to start getting race details in the newsletter again. Obviously, these all have the caveat that things might change because of Government guidance. I think it is going to be a busy Summer and Autumn of races and events.
Virtual London Marathon – 3rd October 2021
I have been approached by The ELY Memorial Fund. They have 2 spare charity places for the Virtual London Marathon and would like to hear from anyone who wants to take part in this event and would be willing to fundraise for it. They have 3 places in total and the fundraising target for the 3 places is £3,000. If you are interested or want to find out more, please let me know and I will put you in touch with the organiser. Details of the charity can be found here:- https://ely-memorial-fund.org.uk/
Thursday Club Night
Thank you for all the replies. I will collate the answers and along with the committee and lead runners, hopefully we will come up with something that ypou want to join in with. I will put the results of the survey here next week.
I think that’s it for now. Have a good week.
