February Newsletter

Hi All,

Another month has gone by and we will soon be running in the light on a Tuesday night.

There is quite a lot to catch up on this month.

Couch to 5K

The Couch to 5K course has worked really well with an enthusiastic group of students and leaders on a Sunday morning.

The Graduation will take place at the rugby club on Tuesday 7th March after the club run. T shirts will be presented and sausage and chips consumed.

If you want to come and have a drink and pass on your congratulations please feel free to do so.

The students will then be doing their Graduation 5K the following Saturday (11th March) at Newent parkrun. It also happens to be Newent’s 10th Birthday. Lets see if we can have a good turn out from Harriers to celebrate both.

Magnificent Eastnor Castle 7

The race will take place on 19th March. We need volunteers to help on the day. Chris Law is organising this and there is a WhatsApp group for all who are interested to join. Link here:

This is always a really great day, the Canicross entries are already sold out!

Please help if you can.

There will also be an opportunity to run the course on Sunday 12th March at 9.30. Lookout for information on Facebook.

ICE Tags

We have ordered club ICE (In Case of Emergency) tags for club members. When you renew your membership please tick the box if you want a set of 3 and I will distribute them on Tuesday nights.

Facebook

There is now a new Facebook group for current members. We decided we needed this as the old page has more than 550 members. There are only about 80 current members. I have tried to email an invitation to all current members but if you have not received an invitation please apply to join the group.

Tuesday Groups

We had a ‘move up’ Tuesday in February which seemed to work well and many of you have stayed in your new groups. If you have any feedback on how the groups work eg. pace and distance, please let me or one of the Lead Runners know.

If you are interested in becoming a Lead Runner please let one of us know. I hope that we will be able to arrange for Lead Runners to undertake the LiRF training this year.

We welcome any feedback or suggestions at any time so please let any of the committee know if you have anything on your mind.

Good running!

Mark
