Hi,
I am writing this newsletter having completed the Dymock 5 mile race this morning, as usual an enjoyable occasion. Well done to our members who did either the half marathon or the 5 mile race.
Quite a lot to cram in to this month’s newsletter.

Thank you to all of you who have already signed up. We are expecting in the region of 20. I’m sure Jayne could squeeze you in if you want to join us. The cost is only £5. If you want food you can bring your own takeaway in to the British Legion. We are starting at 7.00.
Pub Run 4th June
The first pub run of the year will take place on Tuesday 4th June. We are going back to the Yew Tree at Colwall who are opening especially for us. Meet at 6.30 for a 6.45 start as usual and then back to the pub for a drink and chips afterwards.

Thank you to all of those of you who have already paid. Time is running out if you want England Athletics affiliation. The closing date is 31st May. I will be doing the application on that date so please pay as soon as possible. Membership fees £15 for non affiliated membership and £34 for affiliated membership. The membership application form and details for payment (by BACS if at all possible) are on the website.
parkrun away day 29th June
We are planning a club parkrun awayday to the Riverside parkrun at Hay on Wye. Please look on the club parkrun WhatsApp group to see who is going and we will try to share lifts where possible. If you are not a member of the WhatsApp group please let me know and we can add you.
Summer Cross Country
The dates, host club and venues for the Summer Cross Country League are:
12th June MonRoss at Treworgan Farm
26th June FoDAC at Wilton
10th July Ledbury Harriers at Westons Cider
24th July Hereford Couriers at Newton Court
If you want to have a go at running any of the races Neil Grinnell will be sorting out registration and will post details on facebook.
As we are hosting the race on 10th July we will be asking for volunteers to help set up the course during the day and to marshal at the race itself in the evening so please save the day and look out for announcements and posts.
Finally – Safety on club runs
Most of you will know that we have had a couple of incidents on Tuesday club runs in the last few weeks. Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt but it has led us to have a look at our safety arrangements. All Run Leaders are now carrying a mobile phone. We are considering obtaining some first aid kits for Leaders and some of us who do not have the LiRF qualification are going to do the course.
We are also asking members to wear ICE Tags with their emergency details on them. If you don’t have an ICE Tag please let me know as I have a supply. I will bring them down with me on Tuesday evenings. Please just ask me for them.
Have a great month running in what will hopefully be good weather.
Best wishes
Mark
