November Newsletter

Hi,

I am going away for a week on Friday so I wanted to get this out before I go.

The weather has made it difficult to get out running so I hope you are all getting your running fix. If you haven’t been down to a club run on a Tuesday for a while, why not come and join us.

Quite a lot of news this month.

Newent parkrun takeover 7th December

As most of you know we are providing the team of volunteers for Newent parkrun on 7th December. We already have quite a few volunteers but if you would like to have a go at Barcode scanning, tailwalking, marshalling or helping to close down after the event please let me know.

We would also like to have a few pacers to help people achieve PB’s. If you would like to do that let me know.

If you have never been to a parkrun and are interested in getting involved this is an opportunity to come along with friends from the club.

Food Bank Collection 10th December

If you would like to make a donation to Ledbury Food Bank we shall be having a collection of food and other essentials at the club run on10th December.

The food bank supports about 175 households from Ledbury and the surrounding villages every month. It is entirely dependent on donations and grants to carry on its work. Anything you can donate will be very gratefully received.

Pre-Christmas Run 17th December

This year’s traditional pre Christmas run followed by sausage and chips in the rugby club will take place on 17th December. we will run at the usual time and the meal will be at about 7.45.

As usual Chris Law will be providing a quiz.

The cost is £6 per head. Please let me know if you are coming and make your payment in advance (preferably by BACS) to the club account using the reference ‘Xmas’ Details at the bottom of the newsletter. If you would like veggie sausages please include that in your email. Orders to me please by no later than Saturday 14th December.

Couch to 5K 2025

Sally Smart has kindly agreed to mastermind this year’s course which will run for nine consecutive Sunday mornings starting on 5th January at 9.30

We have a number of leaders to help run the course but if you are interested in helping please let Sally or me know.

If you know of anyone who would like to join the course please direct them to the club website where they can find all of the relevant information. The cost of the course is £25.

AGM and Meal Saturday 18th January 2025

The club AGM followed by the Annual dinner will take place at The Talbot Hotel, New Street on 18th January at 7.30. Places for the meal are limited to 30 so please book as soon as possible.

The link to the menu is here:

AUTUMN WINTER MENU TALBOT

Email Jayne, (jaynecresswell@btinternet.com) to confirm your booking and make payment to the club account. Your booking will be confirmed once payment has been received. Please use ‘AGM’ as the reference in your payment.

If you would like to get involved with the club committee or take on any of the club officers jobs please let me know. This year’s officers are willing to continue but new faces are always welcome. Assuming that no-one else wishes to take on the role of Chair I will continue for a third and final year.

If you have anything you want discussing at the AGM please let me know.

Magnificent Eastnor Castle 7 2025

We have finally been able to confirm the date for next year’s race. It will take place on Sunday 6th April. Please save the date as we will need as many people as usual to help with marshalling etc.

We are also looking for someone to oversee and manage the social media publicity for the race. If you have the skills and are able to help with this please let me know. We are competing with other events and a high profile social media campaign is vital to the success of the race.

I think that is everything except for contact and bank details.

My email is listerm34@hotmail.com
