Newsletter 26th September 2021

Hi there

Hope you have had a good week.

This weekend and last have been very busy on the racing front.

11 runners took on the Dymock 10K and another 6 did the half-marathon. Great running from everyone.  Catherine kindly sent some pictures but I have them on my other pc so will have to add them later.

However, Tony did get one of some of the finishers,

The Dymock 10K is a great course and I would recommend it.  I’m told that the 10K and half-marathon will be back at it’s usual time next year in May so keep an eye out for that one!

It was also the Run Hereford weekend and we had participants in the 5K, 10K and half-marathon there.  Due to the changes in dates, Nick Tyler ended up doing Dymock 10K on Saturday and Hereford 10K on the Sunday!

If anyone wants to send me a race report, please let me know!

We also had some parkrun tourism this weekend and we went over to Ross. A new course now.  It is all off-road but flat, which makes a change!  Great to see Ledbury Harrier vests out.

Our next parkrun tourism will be on Saturday 30th October and the proposed venue is Forest of Dean (Coleford) event.

Parkrun Volunteer take-over at Newent

This is on the 16th October.  Thank you to those who have already volunteered.  We need another 4 people to help out please.  If you can help, please email me  and I will have a list with me on Tuesday night as well.

Thursday Night sessions

These have now started and we had a good turnout for the first session.  Kate has volunteered to run a 6 week “hill technique and tips” course.  This will be held every other week and the first one will be this Thursday (30th September).  If you are interested, please sign up here  Hill Session Sign-Up sheet.  If you have any questions about it, please email Kate  on kate.elkington1@btinternet.com

As well as the hill session, there will be the usual Thursday session taking place.  Details of the session will be sent out on Wednesday.  For both sessions, please meet on the corner of Prince Rupert Road and New Mills Road.  6:15 to warm up and 6:30 if already warmed up.

Everyone is welcome to either session.

London Marathon

Next week is the London Marathon and we wish our runners, both in London and those doing it virtually, the very best of luck.
