Virtual Challenges
There have been more entries in the Bingo challenge this week Sally Rooke, however gains this week’s award for taking part with her run up Chase End (run somewhere you’ve never run before) in Fancy Dress (go for a run in Fancy Dress – photo evidence required). It would have been hot in normal running kit but when you are dressed as a bear/monkey?! Thanks Sally, for brightening up our day!
We also have our Ledbury Harriers baton which is making it’s way around the area. Please see the posts on Facebook to see where it is currently. Find it and take it for a run! Then post a picture of where you have left it. There was a moment of worry last night when we thought it may have gone missing but it has been found and will be on its way again shortly.
There will be a new virtual challenge out this week but do keep ticking off those Bingo challenges. It’s a fun way of getting out there perhaps doing things that you wouldn’t normally consider… Pre 9 am runs, trying a new route or even fancy dress!
Change in Government Advice regarding exercise as of 1st June 2020
Although Government guidance has been updated, there is still no change with regard to clubs being able to meet again as yet.
The government guidance can be found here.
England Athletics have now updated their guidance on resuming athletics activity.
This is the advice:-
- Exercise outdoors only in groups of up to 6 people providing athletes/runners maintain social distancing advice i.e. 2m apart if from a different household
- A coach and up to 5 athletes or runners can train together provided they maintain social distancing i.e. 2m apart if from a different household
Full details can be found here:-
At the moment, this means that we will not be running as a club. We will keep in touch by newsletters and virtual events. As soon as we are able to meet safely as a group we will let you know.
