Newsletter – 31st January 2021

Hi there

We’ve got to the end of what feels to me like the longest January ever!  However, the days are getting longer and there are signs of spring beginning to appear.  I hope you are all well and managing to get out to run or walk.

The baton certainly had a good workout last week.  I wonder where this week will take it!

Magnificent Eastnor Castle 7

We won’t be able to run our usual event this year but we are making tentative plans to put on some sort of event on 25th April.  This is obviously with the proviso that the Government restrictions in force at the time, will allow us to do so.

The format proposed is to mark up the course and allow signed-up runners to run it during a 4 hour period and then to send in their times.  We would then produce a set of results. Each runner would get a momento sent to them once they had sent in their results.

We would provide a smaller than usual marshalling presence and would ensure all safety issues were addressed.  eg – make sure all runners were signed on and off the course.

Using this format, it would allow more Ledbury Harriers to take part in the event.  Could you let me know if you would

a) be interested in doing the event

b) would be willing to help out for some of the time on the day

and if yes to b) do you hold a current First Aid Certificate (First Aid at Work for example)

Please either email me on info@ledburyharriers.org.uk  or put your comments under the Facebook post.

If you have any thoughts about the event itself, please let me know.  The entries for this event wouldn’t be opened until much nearer the time (possibly just 2 weeks beforehand) as we would need to be sure that we were able to run it safely.

I think that’s all for now.

Have a good week.

Helen
